Papillon béton

Papillon béton is a custom-made chain curtain that hangs in a doorframe. The door is the entrance to the small house I lived in during the pandemic. The house was bordered by greenery, an old wooden shed and a large herd of sheep. I became interested in this folk art object, which offered protection from insects while allowing fresh air to circulate. It is a fluid passage between the inside and outside, a dialogue between the built and the organic. I rediscovered its eloquence and sensuality, assembling links one by one like long tentacles, a living painting. Time was both long and discontinuous. Papillon béton is an affective object linking the body to space and reviving memories.
