    About & Contact

"Emma’s work bridges disciplines, revolving around the concepts of cohabitation and reallocation. It links the craftsmanship of materials and making with a more conceptual, architectural approach to spatiality. Her practice is rooted in simplicity and clarity, at once thought-provoking and accessible."

"At the core of her global textile medium exploration, which she dubbed “Système T”, Emma assembles rhythmic canvases of startling immediacy, that infuse the everyday with their poetic paradoxes. She deploys a personal arsenal of techniques to adapt to the available resources, transforming the constraints of reality into the very material of a playground where new configurations can emerge. She is drawn to the translation of gestures and knowledge, as well as the circulation of objects across cultures : " the undercommons"

This exchange she’s playing out, this dialogue of ancient weaving techniques and industrial detritus, breathes new life into unique textile furniture and site-specific installations, effortlessly merging interior and exterior. Emma is stripping structures down, refining the strata of the habitat, rebuilding the world—probing the potential of resistance and reorganisation, in a crisis of materiality."
